Hobart cruise shore excursions.

Macquarie Wharf 9–11 hours alongside Australia

Hobart is one of the easiest ports in Australasia — ships berth at Macquarie Wharf, a flat five-minute walk from Salamanca Place, the Saturday market and the catamaran to MONA. Tasmania's compact geography means major sites are all within 90 minutes' drive.

Mt Wellington summit & Bonorong wildlife sanctuary

Drive to the 1,271-metre summit for panoramic views, then hands-on Tasmanian devil and wombat encounters at Bonorong.

Bruny Island gourmet & wildlife tour

Good to know

  • —Mt Wellington summit can be 10°C colder than the city — bring a windproof layer.
  • —Saturday Salamanca Market is a destination in itself; ships calling on Saturday should leave time for it.
  • —Port Arthur is a long day; not recommended for ships in port less than 9 hours.
