For group travel, we recommend booking 9–12 months in advance, especially for peak season (December–February) or specialist tours that require limited-availability venues, lodges, or experiences. Smaller bespoke tours can sometimes be arranged with shorter lead times — please get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate.

Is there a visitor levy or tourism tax?

Yes — New Zealand charges an   International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL)  which is paid alongside your NZeTA. Australia includes a   Passenger Movement Charge  in international airfares. These fees go towards conservation and infrastructure that protect the destinations we love. Layers are essential — weather in New Zealand and parts of Australia can change quickly. New Zealand uses the New Zealand dollar (NZD), Australia uses the Australian dollar (AUD), and Fiji uses the Fijian dollar (FJD). Credit and debit cards (especially Visa and Mastercard) are accepted almost everywhere, including in remote areas. Contactless payments are the norm. Some travellers like to carry a small amount of local cash for tipping or markets.
