Experience · Northern Territory, Australia

Uluru-Kata Tjuta

Uluru and Kata Tjuta sit 30km apart in the heart of the Red Centre — two of the largest monoliths on earth, both sacred to the Anangu traditional owners. The classic trip is two nights at Ayers Rock Resort or Longitude 131° with sunrise/sunset at both rocks plus the Field of Light.

What to do

Walk the 10km Uluru base loop at dawn. Valley of the Winds walk at Kata Tjuta (7.4km loop). Field of Light by Bruce Munro after dark. Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars.

Where to stay

Longitude 131° — 16 luxury tents looking at Uluru, all-inclusive. Sails in the Desert and Desert Gardens are the more conventional resort options.
